A lot of books these days deal with present day. I liked this book because it deals with life in the late 60's and early 70's. I like that people remember when there were albums and record stores. It reminds me of being in high school those where popular places to hang out. Althena and Derek's story comes full circle. Although, I thought Derek could have been less of a dick to Althena when he finds out the truth and more understanding from where Althena was coming from but that's part of the story. All in all, it was a GREAT book. I thought about it for several days after I read it that's how I know when I've read a great book. It stays with you!Product details

This was a good book, definitely worth reading. I just wish the author hadn't switched so much between the past a present, made things a little confusing but once you get past that it has a good plot and character substance.
I loved this book!! It was fantastic! I would recommend this to anyone who really wants a true romance novel. It is written so well. The characters are lovable...so much so that I didn't want it to end. I'm going to read more of this author.
Great story that reflects then and now. You just pulled for the characters in the story to come out on top. I felt like I was part of the story being pulled along through the journey as part of it. Definitely worth the read.

This was well written and I enjoyed the time period in which the story took place. The book had a unique feel to it that I can't quite describe, but I really enjoyed it. I loved the characters, especially Athena. She was sweet and funny. Derek was great and Elizabeth was delightful. Great story.
This is a very good story. I enjoyed almost every bit of it. I loved the characters and they were well-developed and very interesting. The other band members and the manager were so very likeable and I hope to see more books about them. The story line was excellent.
I wasn't thrilled that Derek could not easily get over the betrayal of his daughter (which I did not consider a betrayal at all) but I guess that is what makes the story. It seems Derek was always pretty open and honest with Athena about his feelings for her and their future, but the gap between what he thought Athena wanted and what she thought he wanted was a bit too wide for me. I would have suspected they would have understood each others inner workings a bit better.
I do recommend this book and once you begin it you will not want to put it down.
I do not normally like books that flip flop back and forth from the present year to years earlier, but I do think that, in this case, it was done very well and brought even more to the story. It didn't last throughout the whole book. Only part way until we were all brought up-to-date.

What a FANTASTIC story! Juli Page Morgan's Athena's Daughter takes you back in time to the mid-70's and immerses you in the heady excitement and gritty realism of a band that makes the leap from tiny venues to mega-stardom. The songs referenced took me back in time. The characters are so alive they leap off the page, as they unravel secrets and find forgiveness on their way to happily-ever-after. How I wish this book came with a soundtrack!
